“Montevideo, God Bless You!” wins ovation in Pula

Film ‘Montevideo, God Bless You!’ by Serbian director Dragan Bjelogrlic was displayed within the main competition programme of the 58th Pula Film Festival, which attracted great interest of the local audience, production house Intermedia Network released on Monday.

No seat was left vacant in festival hall Kastel where Bjelogrlic’s film was displayed on July 15.

Together with Stevan Filipovic’s movie ‘Haircut’ and 21 more film, ‘Montevideo, God Bless You!’ is competing for one of the festival’s main awards, that is, for the award for best film, director, best leading actress/actor and for two special awards, one of which is granted by critics and the other by the viewers.

Serbian film industry has its rightful place in the programmes of other festivals as well, with films like ‘The Enemy’ by director Dejan Zecevic, Lazar Ristovski’s ‘White Lions’, ‘How I Was Stolen by the Germans’ by Misa Radivojevic and’Cinema Komunisto’ by Mila Turajlic. Srdjan Dragojevic’s ‘Parade’ and Srdjan Golubovic’s ‘Circles’ will be presented as part of the ‘Work in Progress’ programme.

This year’s Pula Film Festival opened on July 9 and will last until July 23.
